about
This piece is rooted in a practice of trying and failing and trying again to make space for grief. It is meant to evoke a ritual or contemplative setting. Enodia is a Greek goddess of roads and doorways related to Hecate.
Tuning: George Secor's 17-tone well-temperament. This piece exploits the unevenness of this tuning, by modulating to a remote key (E half flat minor) roughly haflway. In the remote keys the minor triads are really close to 22:26:33 and 28:33:42 rather than the more stable triad 6:7:9 that you find in the near keys, such as D minor, the main key of this piece.
